Q: I've been told that interior shutters need to be installed by a "certified installer". Is this true?
A: Local companies that come to your home to measure and install interior shutters will commonly tell you this to deter you from seeking to purchase indoor shutters from other outlets. There is no interior shutter governing body that certifies shutter installers. Often companies certifies themselves - much like me creating an award, giving it to myself, and then promoting that I won a prestigious award.
Whether they be interior shutters or exterior shutters, a homeowner can measure and install shutters with the right hand tools, installation instructions, and patience to hang the shutters properly.
